Can I keep my old number for pay as you go rolling basis sim? Also if I go to Asia for travel can I use data roaming

You can change your tariff in your MtO2 and you keep your number.

For roaming use, enter the country in this link and select PAYG https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

It will be cheaper to use local sim cards or WhatsApp / Skype over wifi to call home.
