Pre order iPhone 13 pro

I received a text today about pre ordering the iPhone 13 pro and then I can trade in my current device and my left over contract will be paid for but when I tried to do the order it still said I have to pay my leftover contract which contradicts the text message. Could you help me understand why and assist if possible to get this deal as I am very interested in it. Thank you

The terms state that you need to pay off you contract and the amount your phone is worth will be credit back to your account to reduce the balance of the current device.  

As o2 aren't going to give you the credit, before they have checked the phone... or you could end up with a bill.
