This is not necessarily due to online shopping, this is generally safer than handing your card over in a shop.

I agree, online shopping with retailers such as Amazon, HMV, Littlewoods, Tesco etc etc is very safe. This is more likely to have arisen from your card details being 'skimmed' somewhere. There are many ways this could have happened. Once reported to your bank's fraud department it will be investigated and they will do their best to recover any losses for you

could someone help i just got my bank statment and say i have top up when i havnt and says card payment to o2 (NELSON)10.00 ??? any help would be great have looked on the net and say its a scam but want to check befor i cancell my card thanks
I've also found O2 (NELSON) on my bank statement (17/02/10)
I had my debit card rejected this morning so called the bank.
They said they'd blocked my card following some strange transaction attempts which they'd also blocked.
This has caused me to check through my statements for any other unusual debits.
All seems well luckily except for a £10 debit Q2 (NELSON) 17.02.10
I'm assuming this is Nelson in Lancashire.
