I have been with o2 for over 15 years, my phone broke in the last few days so the first place I came was o2 shop. I saw a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini for £239.99, £90 off, bargain!!! Out of stock but can deliver in 3 days, fair enough, 3 hrs after order get a txt to say not 3 days, don't know when they can deliver, up to two weeks???? Ask to cancel and get refund, 14 days to refund, went out of stock as I ordered? Still advertising 3 days customer service appalling, no phone, no money, no chance. Selling products they don't have and services they can't deliver, hello EE

They were looking for a refund but have indicated now that as they have to wait 14 days for the refund (which i think is criminal to take money when you know you can't fulfil the order) they said they can't afford to pay for another phone till that money arrives so they might as well wait for the phone and use a different sim.
Yes...as i said...it is late...

Just imagine yourself selling a... say... your old telly or whatever else on a car boot sale. So, a buyer approaches you, you agree pricewise, he hands you the money, and then you go like "Sorry mate, this one is actually sold, and I've got no more left in stock, however you can't get your money back right now, come back in 14 days". How many of us would actually get away with it?

It does seem in this day and age that having to wait 14 days to receive a refund is frustrating.
I expect it's also connected to Banking Systems / checks in some way too.
@I like your alternative @cyrillcguy on how to see this type of situation.
It would be better all round if the Networks had some form of Live Stock System ,so a customer can make a more informed choice wether to proceed with a transaction knowing a device is not in stock.
Easier said than done I assume.
What would be helpful is an O2 representative explaining officially how their systems operate on stock levels Vs orders.
Ogranizing a proper Live Stock System might not be an easy task. I'd agree with that. However, I don't believe for a minute that in the 21st century it's impossible to issue an instant refund.
