email is something we all use, some of us for just creating a backbone account, others for all our daily business needs such as payments, purchasing online and organising our finances.
But what happens after you no longer fin yourself with the email provider? They close it down.
I have paid o2 plenty over the years. Back 19 years ago when I bought my first mobile phone contract on a siemens phone (which had the ability to create your own ringtones via a keyboard on the actual phone... Oh how things have changed) to being given the opportunity to become a beta tester for their broadband when it first came out. Oh the lies they came out with about the future on that day. To the most recent nokia n8 contract which I was given free email account on. With the lie that I can keep the email account after the contract has ended.
They made good for a year but now, but as of the 1st of November it will just become another definition of what the word "keep" means to O2. I now have 5 children and a good wife, life is good but as you can imagine it is expensive, that's 6 mobile contracts alone which are demanded because unless you can provide a smartened and all the Internet a teen desires you are a terrible parent. (joke) and as of the 1st of November 02 shall find 6 less members to their network. OK, its just an email address, but if I change my gas provider, they do not demand I change my address so all other people sending me letters don't have to suddenly have to request I prove myself once again... And what about all those online payments that I have made. That may become a problem in a month or maybe a years time... O2 removing my email address is just petty and does nothing but ensure none of my family shall ever believe this company in the future. may they go dark and be bought out by blackberry.

This isn't some petty move against you, it's being closed down for everyone.
It's easy enough to get a new one from Yahoo or Gmail and others.
There is an edit button to change a post if you need to.
