o2 asking me for a deposit

Hi can anyone give me a contact for the credit checking team, o2 are asking for a 300 pound deposit for a 22 pound a month contract, i passed the credit check with vodafone and signed up yesterday for 25 pounds a month, i can cancel it if o2 give me a contract without the deposit.... if a moderator could get in touch it would be great, thanks

just rang the credit vetting team on 01132 023 373 werent very helpful at all, was on the phone to them for literally 2 mins, just basically told me i had to pay the 300 pounds there is no way around it, it was due to the amount of the handset and my credit score, my credit score with experian is over 980, but i think my equifax one is sitting at fair with basically no debt... well thanks o2 for nothing il be going to vodafone!

Credit scores don't mean a thing, they are an invention of the credit ratings agencies.

 

You can easily be refused by one company and accepted by another, more on this here:

Each company offering credit will have their own internal systems and will judge each application separately.

oh i know about credit scores but i am low risk because i dont owe alot of money to anyone, there is a default on both credit files but o2 must be just stricter than vodafone
