friends and family 30% discount

i'm on the friends and family staff discount @ 30% off a 30 day rolling simplicity contract... (they said they could offer this money off for up to 10 friends and family)

now... I was the partner of a staff member at the time but we've no longer together...

i've been told I need him present to upgrade the simplicity 'contract' to a 18 month contract plus phone...

is this true? or is there a way around it

Non of the above is true, Unfort, the staff discount cannot continue on upgrade or new connection. The reason for this is the employee or the EIN holder has control over this and it's now self managed by them. So the only way you can cont or upgrade ur existing Acct even if a new connection, it can only be added if the holder applies direct internally for this to be added.
Stores can no longer add it or cont it.
Also just to add, an upgrade is a new contract your entering into even keeping the same number. A contract is given at the start or a new connection & upgrade.
Hope the above sheds some light

If you upgrade through staff account then they can keep it on because they can do the checks there. If you upgraded through general CS then they've not paid attention and removed it like they should. grin

Hello,
In reply to the above " r u saying I'm making it up" absolutely not! I didn't say it never previously happened! Of course this was and did apply to previous staff discounts.
Let me explain again:
Staff discounts from a couple of months ago was moved into customer service.
Sometimes you get general advisers dealing with your account. With this you DO NOT receive any less service.
The process to add a staff discount or carry over has changed, as I prev said, it's fully managed by the staff member and can ONLY be done by them.
I feel this is better and safer managed this way, it's protects the usage of such discounts, surely they can only have a limit on them, so why should you bf able to carry over/connect WITHOUT requesting or gaining authorisation from the holder?

Only way you can safely almost make sure you keep it is to never change/upgrade ur Acct!
The terms you agreed to at the time is the agreement that will only end if at all changed! However, they can change as the company see fit, as per their terms!!!
Sorry if this disappoints!
Regards

hi,
im in same position, abou tto upgrade but they have said that i need to contact the person who gave me the discount, which i cant ,
if i go thru the shop , would they allow me to keep my discount or not?

No they won't add it, as they cannot add it, the advise given as above "you need contact the staff person" is in fact correct.

My comments were obviously taken very much the wrong way!
I did not intend to offend, never do & forgive my grammar.
As I use exclamation marks in many of MY txt. As your a sensitive person (nothing wrong with sensitivity)
In my work, as u have kindly mentioned. I never patronise, speak down, or use ignorance ever!
All my customers in my field of work are more than happy with my manner & how I portray myself verbally. This is proven in my track record of feedback received from many a delighted customer.
*Wanty. Please accept my sincere apologies as I didn't see your comment. The EIN previously was taken when you called staff accounts. Now they can't add or continue the discount. The staff member has to add this on your behalf via email confirming their own details. The staff member can however request a voucher for their friend/family to use instead. I'm unfortunately unable to provide any opinion or experience on the voucher method as I've not been privi to this.
Also KPI? what's one of them?
I also offer my feedback to you. ####
Well I have taken your message as constructed feedback. Nobody, nor I are perfect so I will use this to improve on my forum communication in future, if I feel the need to return and assist again. So I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
