blocking numbers

Why does the sales description for the various devices not say that "call blocking" is not available on O2, except for Samsung who have this function in their software. Sorry the old "it is too complicated to introduce is just waffle., they could if theyt wanted to, and to say change number is stupid, I have had the same number from cellnet/O2 for 17 years in one form or another, so please give customers what they want not what you can supply at zero cost, like dum reward points.

Apparently you have to JB the iphone and use iBlacklist at around a tenner. Think I'll just stick to my scripted verbal abuse when these scrotes call!

Same here. If it's important then they'll leave a message.

You obviously do not use your phone for business in 65 different countries, miss a real live call and lose your lively hood, not really an answer

I wanted to but 02 did not have any Samsung phones available, and mine had died, had had it for five years, and did not realise that barring numbers was a phone handset dependent function.

If it's an important enough business call then they'll leave a message.

Nokia c3, and not smart, I do not buy phones, even if I did the descriptions would not tell me call baring was not available, even Samsung do not tell you it is available on their handsets, see my original post. Not an 02 issue, they supplied the phone and the network, and from the responce this is receiving and other posts I am far from the only one who would like this function, so come on 02 do something for your customers for a change and pressure the manufacturers to include this in their software.

How many MR. Ali do you think I know, I do not have voice mail on my number for two reasons, most of my customers have English as a second or third language, so messages left are often not clear, and the message they leave is equally vague. They mis-dial my number and think that I am ignoring them. So the rule is if I have not answered the phone, I am either asleep or in an aircraft somewhere, or no network. it saves all the accusations and misunderstandings. I should recognise the number, not always some countries change networks and numbers more times than the UK. and sometimes the number is not shown.

I find it absolutely amazing that O2 aren't interested in providing a blocking function. My mobile is now permanently switched off or on silent. I take it with me when I go out in case of an emergency but my friends and family have known for some time that it's no longer possible to contact me by mobile. I am probably exceptional at the moment but with the situation only getting worse, surely O2 need to address this problem?

When I replace my phone I will have a look at Samsung and get one that can do blocking. But the solution ultimately has to be proper spam control by the networks.
