Anyone else on an iPhone 15 series who’ve updated to iOS 18 noticed that they have a toggle for Stand Alone in their network setting under Voice & Data?

Mine’s greyed out but wasn’t there before iOS was released at 18:00 today.

There is certainly @Clever_Trevor a lot of confusion about the difference between 5G SA and 5G NSA. 👍

Not really its all quite simple

5G NSA - 5G None StandAlone deployed using existing 4G infrastructure  aka Cheap 5G

5G SA - 5G cells used to transfer data and signalling and no reliance on 4G infrastructure  aka pure 5G

I would understand Call Centre staff not knowing as they are not techies, and don't need to know the difference between the 2..  same as when you ring your ISP I would expect the guys on 1st line to know what port is SMB or DNS ..

Not sure I agree with you @madasaf1sh

CS should know the difference when O2 are marketings handsets with SA bundled in like it's better. Not saying they should have detailed knowledge but they should at least know the different standards especially when they're supposed to be able to troubleshoot issues and guide you to resolutions.

Did an experiment with an O2 store in a SA area last Thursday. They seem as confused as Customer Services.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It's quite disgraceful frankly

Why is a company not giving the required training?

I can understand if it's the outsourced overseas call centres but there is no possible excuse for the UK call centres and the O2 stores, franchised or not

Everything O2 implement is a sh*t-bucket for customers

Thank God I only pay my airtime to these clowns as I can't be dealing with advisers who don't know their ass from their elbow!
