O2 still way behind on speed
on 21-07-2023 14:24
I do wonder @Enlli whether the speed point is location specific. I am in London, came over from Three (who are cited as fastest) and have not noticed any difference in speed for streaming stuff.
The line in the report that said "Elsewhere, mobile users spend an average of 62.3% of their time using Wi-Fi instead of mobile data."
I think that must be my kids, everywhere they go "Do they have Wifi?!" Then I realise they have rinsed out their mobile data so only way of getting on internet is Wifi 🤣

@Spenny O2 are undoubtedly the slowest in large areas south Liverpool and going into Widnes and Warrington.
At home 02 around 6Mbs, Vodafone 20Mbs and EE 40Mbs haven't got a 3 SIM

So @Enlli just went and tested my speed at home. Did it 3 times average was 31Mbs.
My son is on Three so will check his speed later. Likely London has better coverage.
Now you have made me interested to see what speed we get with Three. Don't have any of the other networks.

O2 is the worse of the bunch in my locality
Around 6Mbs compared to my EE SIM around 40Mbs. (4G)
O2 also is the only network without 5G cover
It varies, I travel a lot in the summer and my EE SIM is faster more often than not.

So EEs advertising may have some merit then, landing planes from peoples front rooms and all

76Mbps in Centre Sheffield tonight
176.3mbps in Leeds City Centre
76 Mbps at the Porsche Centre in Sheffield, so not as bad here in Yorkshire
@Spenny that advert annoys the life of me, as its on 1Gb BB, with lots of VPN's and SaaS based services, and not really a real world test.. and its not over BB

Just reading comments on that article too, this one from Andy on 21-Jul: So it’s now official – O2 is the worst of the networks. We always knew that but it is good that it is now proved.
So it goes ...
