It's been a total shambles!
Misinformation, lack of emails, orders stuck "In Progress"...
It's really not good enough, all customers want to know is "When will I get my phone!"
I really don't understand how o2 can be so bad with telling the truth to their customers...so, a simple one:
Have you got stock of the Samsung Galaxy S2, as of now (09th May), for either contract or payg?
The Poll image below highlights the issues that many of the customers are having:

Was told that their next confirmed batch was coming in on the 16th and that I was guaranteed delivery on the 17th. We'll have to wait and see on this, all I know is the #### if it doesn't turn up (anyone got the numbers for trading standards and ofcom?)
That'll be a full 11 days after I placed the order. If I was told that when placing the order I wouldn't have needed to take a day off of work and rearrange several things. I wonder whether O2 fancies paying my going daily rate so I can take another day off, somehow I doubt it.
Haven't been on O2 since they became O2 and I am starting to regret it.

Are you serious? Even the most basic of online shops can do this and yet O2 can't!

So I thought I'd phone O2 and order it that way. I did this last Friday and was not told anything about current stock levels. She happily took my order and I signed up for another contact. I was told I would receive the phone on Monday (yesterday).
With this in mind, I arranged to work from home yesterday and the phone never arrived.
Both my wife and I went in to our local O2 store last Saturday so that my wife could check it out and see if she liked it. They hadn't any stock of it but said to try ringing them on Tuesday (today) as they were expecting more stock of it. I rang them this morning and reserved an S2 handset for my wife which she is picking up tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, my order I placed over the phone is still stuck in "In Progress". I just got off the phone with O2 and they said it is currently marked out of stock !! Now that rightly annoyed me. She said she would resend the request down to their warehouse but I don't hold much hope in receiving it this side of the weekend.
If I only had waited I could have reserved one in the O2 shop myself and picked it up today.

I called customer services, sales and upgrade teams and they all were pretty much unaware except they could confirm it was nothing wrong with my card, credit etc. In the end they all suspected the order was being cancelled because of the lack of stock although they could not see how much stock was available, only that i could place an order with them over the phone and when stock was available it would be sent. So effectively, pay now and receive it whenever which is plain silly.
I have a friend who was lucky enough to place an order for payasyougo reading with next day delivery however upon a phone call to o2 5 days later, there is no stock, payment taken on 5th of May but tentative delivery now the 16th and even then o2 cannot guarantee stock will be allocated. That really is a joke.
Ive decided to try my luck in the stores instead as at least they can confirm stock and i will get my phone in hand at the time of contract start.
Is it really that difficult to say, sorry we do not have stock and as a result cannot accept orders for the moment than have customers going around in circles or feeling cheated?
The way i see it is by the time o2 have the phone back in stock so will every other carrier so we will have a choice...
It would be good if the survey mentioned above was still open or the public could participate to increase the numbers and get a bigger picture.

I'm going to try my luck ringing around the O2 Stores this morning. I have a few options open.

Highly recommend the S2 over the iPhone.
