If a mast is down it will effect every O2 phone.
The app you have been given to use is Tugo and should be used whilst connected to your home wifi network.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi

Try turning your phone off, remive sim and clean it, reinsert and turn back on.

Also sometimes a sim swap can help.

This is the same is a new SIM card is required if a person feels their original one may be at fault.

Any O2 HighStreet Store can perform the swap in store (if on Contract please take some Photo I.D just incase), or a person can take the SIM card home or request one via O2 Customer Services. 202 for Contract. 4445 for PAYG. 8002 for Business -> http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Sim Swap link -> http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Be sure to ask for an Account Specific Blank SIM card as Contract and Pay As You Go versions hold different information.

The Service will stop on the original SIM card which indicates the swap has started. Turning the phone Off and On , or if applicable switching airplane mode On and Off ,with the new SIM card in every 20 minutes or so will typically help the connection to settle.

Contact O2 Customer Services. 202 for Contract. 4445 for PAYG to check your account is ok.

Check your masts here http://status.o2.co.uk

I would advise contacting CS to report the issue also.
The more that report it the more likely it is to be actioned http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

We are having the same problems in Carterton, Oxfordshire. Voicemail is on and off continuously. Have tried chatting with gurus which was frustrating. One guru has given us an app to make calls on which uses wifi. No good though if you haven't got internet coverage and of course it is using our allowance of data up that would normally be used for other things. Feels like they are ignoring an issue and blaming it on the phone. One guru has said that there is an issue with a mast and that we have to report it to the network team. We've had the problem since Friday. I find it strange that three phones should all have the same problem.

There is nothing showing on the service status page for your area. Either download the My Network app and report the problem through there or contact customer service.
