I've decided to take a Refresh deal on a 4G phone and will treat everything as a normal O2 customer, ie, phone will be O2 locked & branded, I will not root or jailbreak, if anything goes wrong I will contact live chat in the first instance, repairs (if necessary) will be done through O2 etc....
I haven't decided which phone as yet, but it will probably be a mid range handset and I will document my experience from ordering, through to setting up & using, the quality of CS and my thoughts on 4G along with the whole "O2 user journey" throughout my contract period.
I will be completely unbiased and I have the option to compare all services to the other 2 networks I use on a regular basis (Three & EE) along with GG which my wife uses.....
I'm hoping it will be a pleasant and enlightening journey

I've now tried a few different HD 1080p videos streamed from the You Tube app. Disney Birds, Dido's music video and some Tigers from Nat Geo and I can honestly say I can't tell any difference between viewing on Wifi, 3G or 4G.
I'm no pro, so an expert may be able to point out differences but for the average Joe like myself it's perfectly watchable (even on the SP's 319ppi screen :))

That's reassuring, most people would be the average Joe so hopefully this won't be a major issue.

Sounds good enough for me, I'd be happy with that.

Purchase and contract/phone setup has all been painless. I deliberately choose a mid range handset in order to replicate an average user (no idea if it makes any difference, but that was my thinking behind it). I also wanted to keep cost at a sensible level.....
Live chat have helped me immediately with my inquiries and sorted out the correct answers/actions without a hitch.
So far, in the places I've been I've always had a usable signal. Not always 4G/3G but always had the ability to make & receive calls.
The next test of O2 will be how fast the 4.3 update rolls out to my handset which Sony are due to release in December.
My 4G speed was up slightly today (I'm still doing a speedtest every day until the novelty wears off :))
I've not tried 4G in Liverpool or Birmingham yet either so I'll update on those areas when I'm next there.....
I'll also update this thread from time to time with any notable events etc but for now I'd say "Good Job Done O2"

No probs Phill
I was in Ludlow area for a few days and struggled with a very slow Edge signal.
Just did a test on wifi and it tells me I am excellent for Tugo.....
