New roles & forum structure

Anonymous

Hi everyone,

Today and yesterday, we've made several usability improvements to the forums. We've also merged several inactive forum boards and implemented some brand new ones for you. Additionaly, we've replaced the old ranks by loads of brand new ones. These should allow you to keep leveling. You will climb the 'levels' by contributing to the community in various ways (simply posting, providing and accepting solutions, giving and receiving kudos', etc.).

I really hope you'll enjoy the changes.

Let me know what you think!

Leonard

That might actually be the result of not having access to advanced HTML anymore, because I removed the super user role.

If I remember correctly, I reported this phenomenon well before your changes.....trouble is, the thread was probably in the superuser section and is now "lost".

I reckon it's connected with the expiry of the log in period which has always been present in the new forum.

Well, the superuser section is still available, but just hidden. If you're talking about being logged out on the forum while not being logged out from the main website; We're in the process of finding out why that happens.

In my case, if I log out of the main O2 site, without logging out of the forum, then occasionally it occurs.

If I log out of the forum first then log out of the main O2 site I can't recollect it ever occuring.

The advanced html option allows for quick and easy posting of content from the o2 website ie tables etc.

I just encounterd the issue.

That was a privilage us superusers used to have

Hi Adam,

Now, I would need to give advanced HTML to everyone and that's a bit of a security risk. Is there no way around it?

Cheers,
Leonard

I think that is for o2 resolve it worked fine when we were superusers.

We were the ones that spent the time beta testing this platform before launch and feel as such the superuser status and section should be restored.

Perhaps I'm getting confused, are we discussing 2 problems here ?

1. The intermittent "Logged Off" message when logging off the main O2 site while still logged into the forum site.

2. The copy+paste of that "Logged Off" message into a post.

Does anyone get an error when signing in initially to the forum? I usually get this at the first sign on when I have been logged out a couple of hours and then have to hit reload, whereupon I am then signed in. No doubt the file will have to be approved before it is visible Error o2

Yep, I'm a bit confused as well. It seems we're discussing three things now slight_smile

1. Logged in and out at the different places
That's something I've picked up with IT and we're trying to fix. It seems to be a cookie issue.

2. Copy/Paste
Copy/pasting should normally not be a problem (for example, see jonsie's post; HTML, tables, images)

3. Superuser role

Adam, you're right, you guys have done loads to help the forum be what it is now and everyone here really appreciates that. You are also the member that help out the most. However, keeping a superuser section didn't make sense from my point of view. It consisted of community feedback and boards for talking to different O2 teams. That's still happening and from what I can see, it's actually functioning a bit better than before.

No, I've never seen that. If I click to log back in, I'm either directed straight back to the forum or I have to sign back into the forum or I have to log off from the main O2 site and then re-log back intothe whole thing.

With the complexity of the new login procedure, why am I not surprised that there are problems ?
