Hi guys,
As most of you are aware, New year's Eve always sees a huge influx of mobile communication activity across all networks, two of these ways being calls and texts.
The team has a few stats to show from the night in question so I thought I'd post them here, but you can find the original article on The Blue.
- The number of texts increased by 27% on typical levels throughout 2012
- 440 million texts were sent across the network on New Year's Eve, which is 10% more than last year's New Year's Eve
- Also, 200 million calls were carried across the network.
Did you contact anyone on New Year's Eve? How did you do it?
Cheers, Toby

I sent texts to a lot of family and friends but as is the case every year, texts failed for 15 mins either side of midnight and so ended up using What'sApp for the majority.
Received most from family and friends anything up to an hour later than they were sent. It's the same every year and whilst it isn't a criticism, it's a shame that networks can't cope in this day and age.

We find it's just easier to turn the phones off as you get happy new year texts arriving during the night as your trying to get to sleep.

200 calls? Wow! How did the network cope with that enormous amount?
Sorry! Edited
