New I-Phone Tariffs

I read in the Metro during the week that 02 were going to be changing the tariffs for the i-phone to increase sales. They said it would happen today, so I looked and sure enough they have increased the included minutes, now getting 600 minutes for calls and 500 texts for £35. This is great, apparently all existing customers will receive a text by the 7th of Feb telling us how we can take advantage of the new offer.

I am hoping we will get the same and have emailed them just now to find out as I have only had my phone 6 days I will be pretty annoyed if I don't get the new tariff at no extra cost!

Seen these today - can somone explain the 30d simplicity - as it appears you can get the handset very cheap with this tariff and as its only 30days -correct me if im wrong - you could cancell after the 30days, and therefor get the iphone 4 for a very cheap price?
Regards, Jamie.

Im on the 30 day simplicity contract and in order to get the iphone 4 i need to change to the iphone simplicity contract. You have to pay for the whole phone wich is about £600 although i have complained today to o2 as they will not let you buy the phone outright tomorrow. They don't actually know when the phone will be available for people on the simplicity contract or for pay as you go.

So just buy the iPhone 4 32GB from Apple's website, it comes unlocked and ready to go. It's what I have done, although I did do it soon enough that I should get it delivered Friday. Pre-orders were so high they now quote they can get it to you by the 14th july. Have phoned O2 for a micro-sim and that should arrive the same day or earlier!

There is always a fee for early cancellation to protect against the carriers against the cost of selling discounted phones with service. But if you are paying outright for the iphone, yes you should be able to cancel at any time and buy the phone. I would just add make sure you buy a package where you have plenty of data so you are not surprised by a overage bill.

I would also say that almost all the companies charge cancellation fee. This is why I often say that analyze your needs before you sign such contract. If you have signed a contract without proper understanding, it you who is to be blamed. Market can't change the rules for one contract.

This sounds pretty awesome for European users. I don't they there was ever such a deal offered here in the US though. I have had an Iphone for several years now, and the rates have actually increased since I first signed on. At first, I was paying about 80 bucks a month with unlimited data, now I pay almost 100 a month, and only get 2 gigs of data per month.
