ANSWER FROM O2 REQUIRED

Around 20.45 0n 30 December I was trying to complete a transaction online. That required receiving a one time security code from my bank to make payment. Tried several times and two banks but no codes arrived and I had to abandon the transaction. However, both codes arrived at 08.43 today: 12 HOURS LATER!!

On several recent occasions text messages have arrived hours after they were sent.

Unless I get a prompt and satisfactory response from O2, I'll find a provider who can do whet They are paid to do,

There is nobody from O2 here, just customers

Guide: Text Message Tips (not sent or received)

The idea of replacing the SIM is worth a try

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

A warm welcome to this O2 customer to customer community @MartinY

It is worth noting that all mobile network operators have similar Terms and Conditions of service ; and none of them will guarantee immediate delivery of text messages.
