Goodbye Loyal Customer

Anonymous
Not applicable
Gutted to have to leave O2. I have been a loyal customer since 28/08/2013, just over 11 years.

I am quite content with my current phone but when the 24 month contract expired, I found out that my monthly payment will not change (even though I have paid for the phone).

When asked about a SIM only deal, I would have gone for the £26pcm option less the 30% F&F discount. However, this does not apply on SIM only deals!:,(

Credit where credit is due, they did try to price match any other networks 24 month contracts, but I don't need a 24 month contract!!!

It seems to me that loyalty is not important to O2. A sad day indeed.

Now this SIM only customer now gets 1200 mins (my average usage was 58 mins), unlimited texts (as was O2) and double the data 1GB (500mb on O2) on a monthly rolling contract for £12pcm.

Now if O2 would have let me key the 30% off discount, they'd have been getting my custom (£18.20 PCM) rather than nothing.

Thanks for everything over the last few years.

Mr Quigley
Ex-O2 customer/ new Virgin Mobile customer.

Thanks for your comments and insight to some of the workings of O2 CS. Hopefully someone at O2 will read this and provide feedback to the appropriate people. I know I'm only one of many customers of O2, but after hearing your comments it appears you all have an inside knowledge or are well connected (pardon the pun).
I'm kind of more gutted now that I was mislead and switched to an alternative provider.

Take care and once again, thanks for your comments.

I only came across this after I switched, I wasn't aware of its existence to be honest. Plus I took it as gospel what Chris said was right, after all, O2 have let him loose on customers!!!!

They've done much worse, but we're always here to pick up the pieces when we can wink

Hi guys,

So, customers should be able to add a friends and family discount onto a Pay Monthly SIM only deal.

You also need to ensure it’s purchased from an O2 store or our website and then ask the O2 employee to do the honours for applying the discount.

Sorry if this info was not given to you Rob and if there's anything I can do, send me a private message.
