Goodbye Loyal Customer

Anonymous
Not applicable
Gutted to have to leave O2. I have been a loyal customer since 28/08/2013, just over 11 years.

I am quite content with my current phone but when the 24 month contract expired, I found out that my monthly payment will not change (even though I have paid for the phone).

When asked about a SIM only deal, I would have gone for the £26pcm option less the 30% F&F discount. However, this does not apply on SIM only deals!:,(

Credit where credit is due, they did try to price match any other networks 24 month contracts, but I don't need a 24 month contract!!!

It seems to me that loyalty is not important to O2. A sad day indeed.

Now this SIM only customer now gets 1200 mins (my average usage was 58 mins), unlimited texts (as was O2) and double the data 1GB (500mb on O2) on a monthly rolling contract for £12pcm.

Now if O2 would have let me key the 30% off discount, they'd have been getting my custom (£18.20 PCM) rather than nothing.

Thanks for everything over the last few years.

Mr Quigley
Ex-O2 customer/ new Virgin Mobile customer.

Just BBM'd my friend in CS and as far as he knows it still applies, however, he is not front line anymore so confirmation from Toby would be useful.....
I've ping'd him for us......

I agree, but if you're right, then Chris needs some constructive coaching.

Plus it would be the first time I'd be disappointed with O2 cust servs.

Robq, just confirm it is F&F and not Open code?
Open code cannot be used on SIMO but F&F still can, we believe.....

F&F T&C's here. Clearly states ANY pay monthly tariff:

O2 Friends & Family: great offers – just for you
If you have a friend or family member working for O2 then, with their permission, you could take advantage of any of the following offers. Just contact them and let them know you are interested!

Pay Monthly

What is the offer? 30% off any O2 Pay Monthly tariff or 50% off the Airtime plan cost in O2 Refresh.

How does it work? Go to http://www.o2.co.uk/tariffs/paymonthly or http://www.o2.co.uk/refresh to see our current available deals, then just take 30% off the core tariff (minutes and texts) cost or 50% off the Refresh airtime plan to see how much you could save.

Once you have decided the best option for you then just go to one of our retail stores to get connected as normal. Once you’re connected (or have upgraded) to a new Pay Monthly tariff, just ask your O2 family member or friend to request the discount for you and they will do the rest!

Please note that if you upgrade or change tariff at a future date you will need to re-request the discount through your O2 family member or friend.

Pay & Go

What is the offer? We’ve pressed fast forward on Pay & Go Go Go. From day 1, you get double minutes and data, and unlimited texts when you opt into the £10 or £20 allowance.

£10 a month - 150 minutes, 200MB of data and Unlimited texts.

£20 a month - 500 minutes, 500MB of data and Unlimited texts.

Both include 5% back on top up's (increasing to 10% after 6 months)

For more information on O2 Pay & Go Go Go just go to http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/Pay_and_Go.

How does it work? New O2 Pay & Go customer? Just buy an O2 Pay & Go sim card, then ask your Telefónica family member or friend to request the discount for your mobile number.

Existing O2 Pay & Go customer? Simply ask your Telefónica family member or friend to request the discount for your mobile number.
