E2 Save scam

Anonymous
Not applicable

E2 save called me a few days ago claiming to be O2 using an untraceable number. They knew I was almost due for an upgrade and asked if I would like a new phone and extend my contract. Thinking it was O2 I said yes.

I had no confirmation emails in the next few days and called O2 to confirm it was O2.

O2 said they knew nothing about this extended contract and upgrade. Having no contact details I could not find out who called me.

An email came through yesterday from E2 Save saying my when my new Phone would be delivered....That afternoon!

I returned an email saying not to deliver it but the email was returned undelivered. Then the courier contacted me saying what time the driver would arrive. I text them back and tried to call them saying not to deliver the package. Without success.

As I was working there was nobody at home to sign for the package and the courier left a message asking me to confirm another time or after 4 days the package would be returned to the sender.

As I did not give over any bank deltails on the Phone do you think If I dont contact the courier and the package goes back to E2 Save that will be the end of it?

Just refuse the delivery and check your bank account to ensure no direct debit has been set up.

Their has been a few threads recently about similar instances.

Google for their telephone contact info.

O2 do allow selected partners to ring you to upgrade.

But they should be open on the call and advise they are not from O2.

If your ready to upgrade then do it through 202 or a store is the best avenue.

I had the exact same problem Yesteday and started a thread in the other services section. I am trying to contact them today to refuse delivery.

I hope everything works out for you. I will keep you informed of how I get on but would also apprecite an update on your situation. Feel free to personal message me.

I have also left two messages on the my account section on my E2save account.

Went on the E2 Save website to get their customer service phone number. Some were no longer in use and the ones that were said I would be charged 10p a minute and sometimes considerably more without going into details of how much and why. Average wait was 9 minutes.

I looked on the Carphone warehouse website and they had a freefone number so I called that and asked to be put through to E2 Save. The guy put me through no bother and there was no mention of any charges. I waited 11 minutes then E2 answered.

I didnt make a fuss, just said I was not happy with the fone they were going to send me and wanted to cancel the contract to give me time to do a bit of research and decide which fone was most suitable for my needs.

The E2 guy was fine on the fone and within 5 minutes had the contract cancelled.

Pretty painless really. Just inconvenient.

Well done and good using the free phone number I hate companies that use the 10p a minute lines and I usually refuse to call them
