Used the talk guru earlier and turns out I was on the old talk and web tariff where a £10 top up gives you 2990 free texts but no data. Luckily as a valued customer guru Si was able to transfer me over to the 'new' version so I now have 300 free texts and 500mb of data!
just hope 500mb is sufficient on an iPhone, will try and limit usage to web page views and only download apps etc via wifi

You should get the data when topping up £10. You get your allowance once a month on your anniversary date. When do you normally have to top up by?

I'm on text and web and you're right that you don't have to keep it topped up - I sometime go for weeks after it's expired without topping up and then when I do, the 30 days starts counting. (Have to say, I haven't needed to top-up at all for a couple of months so it's possible that the rules have changed)
Sorry too if this is vague as I'm half-remembering and could be wrong but when I got my T&W Android phone and sim just over a year ago, I'm sure I had to text "ACTIVE" to get the proper settings before the free data was usable - I'm sure I blew a few quid of credit before I spotted it.

Glad you got it sorted:smileyhappy: You should be fine with that but I would turn off mobile/cellular data whilst at home on wifi as wifi is turned off when the phone sleeps, meaning the phone will try to use mobile data.
