Confirmed by O2 Brent Cross, a batch of Pac code ports have gone wrong and requires manual porting

Hi all,
To summarize, ported my orange number to o2. Although o2 states the port is complete, I have limited functionality.
- cannot receive texts but can send texts
- can receive calls from o2 phones but not from any other network, nor from bt/Virgin phone line, just get number not recognised.
My number does appear correctly when I text/call people.

This has been over 8 days. Numerous calls to o2 support. They have escalated the issue to the techies team as they admit the port is not correct.

Went to the o2 store in Brent Cross and he told me that o2 hq issued a statement to all branches that a batch of pac ports have gone wrong and they will manually port each number. Each branch was informed as they expect many customers to come in.
Looks like I'm one of these. Amongst my many calls to o2 support line, one did say a batch had gone wrong but she said mine wasn't one of them.

Anyways, I'm frustrated but can't do anything at the moment except wait. I'm fed up of calling o2 as they can't do anything. Just glad I got the truth from the shop.

Rest assured I will be complaining to o2 after the whole fiasco is resolved. Thought it would be good to share this info as no doubt their are many people who will have a messed up port and lack of information.

I would not bank on a branch giving you the most up to date information.

As I said in the other post which you ignored that I have never come across a partial porting.

Shock horror a issue with porting form orange to O2!

If you think that O2 shops are more up to date than O2 direct then I think we have a issue, just text my friend who is a manager for a O2 shop and she has not heard anything close to what you have been told.

Steersy, that bring me back to square one!!!
All in all, you would have thought the networks would have porting under their control.
Have you any thoughts on how I can press forward on the matter or should I just sit tight and hope the o2 techies will eventually pick up my escalated issue??

Lots of issues previously reported with ports away from Orange.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

It's a shame how reliant we have become on mobiles
