fyi,
I've just spoken to Brian @ O2 on the chat site. His response confirmed as per the Irish site.
details:
Joe: Hi. I just want to double check the status with call forwarding and roaming data with o2 uk, as I cannot find the answer for my question on this forum Question: If I set up a call forward from my uk iPhone to a uk number (Skype +44 number) whilst still in the uk (and do not touch these settings whilst overseas) is it correct that: 1. I will only be charged for a uk call (this can be covered by my inclusive minutes) 2. The phone can be left on overseas to recieve texts etc. (again the call forwarding option left untouched from when I change the setting in the uk) I found an answer that ties in with the above on the o2 Irish site, but o2 had to look into and confirm this was the case after being challenged on their initial response by a board member (link below). An answer similar to the Ireland site would be appreciates 🙂 http://community.o2online.ie/t5/Coverage-Roaming/Call-Forwarding-When-Roaming/td-p/69409 Thx Joe O2 : Brian: Let me check. Joe: thanks O2 : Brian: Please give me a few minutes. Joe: sure will do, i know its complicated given the conversation on the o2 irish site. O2 : Brian: Thanks for waiting. Joe: ok still here, take your time. O2 : Brian: Will you be setting up call forwarding when not reachable or busy? Joe: i'm moving to Abu Dhabi, so i want an 'unconditional' divert on all my calls to the skype number O2 : Brian: Oh. Okay. O2 : Brian: For using an unconditional divert you'll be charged as per the uk rates. It'll come out of your allowance. Joe: ok great, i assume then that i have to set that up in the UK before i go? Also will i still be able to txt? O2 : Brian: Yes. You'll need to set it up in the UK. O2 : Brian: Your texts will work as normal. O2 : Brian: You'll be able to send texts. Joe: Great, thanks for your help Brian |
