Are 02 really that lazy

Despite not being available for a number of years, if you put into google send a free text from 02 it brings you up with an 02 faq page telling you to log in etc.

 

come on o2 stop being lazy and archive this will you, or at least change the page to say this service is no longer available, its a 5 second job.

It's a 5 second job maybe but it's a weeks job getting rid of all the old webpages that exist and are accessible.

To be fair, google does archive links. O2 is not a static website so dynamically alters from time to time. A search engine will not be able be determine whether a link is still valid until a third party process is used to clear up dead links unless some sort of scheduled process happen which does that.

You'd think they would actually take the outdated pages down after so many years, yes:
