Back in April I decoded to get a new phone on top of my existing contract, I took out the iPhone 5, my friend works for the 02 store and is a manager so I generally felt quite safe using 02, anyway within a couple
Of days of taking out the iPhone a new deal arose called the refresh, I decided that contract looked better for me so I took the original handset in and was advised by my friend that because I had it less than 7 days they could just cancel the phone and take out another one in the refresh, I handed the original iPhone in and Received a new one on a cheaper deal, any way four months on I was looking through my bank statements as something didn't seem right. Turns out 02 hadn't cancelled the original phone and was still billing me £37 a month for it! When I called customer services to see what was going in they told me I was wrong and that I had been sending text messages off the phone! I was livid as they where making me out to be a liar, I then drive 15 miles to the shop where I had originally got the phone to sort this out, after an hour of waiting around for the manager to look into it they determined that the phone had been cancelled in store but somehow the warehouse hasn't processed it and where using the SIM card in different iPhones to check they where working in the warehouse, courtsy of me paying the bill! Anyway a week passed and I finally had a phone call to say they would refund me the money with in 10-14 days, this was back at the end if July, I'm still waiting for the refund, I then asked them about some compensation due to the fact everything is their fault and I had been left out if pocket with the over paid bill and fuel and time and phone calls, they offered me a mere £15 !!! Told me I was lucky to be getting that!!! Then when i call today to see why my refund is still not there I have another 45 minute conversation as they didn't believe me, again making a lair out of me, after being passed from pillar to post they finally decide to look into the matter properly and told me
The refund would be In The account within 10 days, that's not all, I had over paid £148, they're only refunding me £123! Oh and they still tried to take the direct debit after they had determined i shouldnt be paying for it!!! Absolute joke 02, rude, nasty service that can't even keep
Proper notes on the system to be able to assist customers without them being interrogated and made to feel like a liar. Safe to say when my contract is up I will not be going back to them, after being a loyal customer for 7 years I thought I'd of been treated a little better than this!!!!

Sounds like a bit of a mess up there, but where was your friend who works for O2 and is a manager through all this?

I suspect the manager friend will have little or no clout further up the chain.

I truly hope this mess is resolved for you quickly and reasonably.

02 don't generally offer compensation but should make sure your not out of pocket.

As said in an earlier post please fill out the official complaint form. .
