Hi everyone, since 11/8/14 i am getting a 4g signal in the BH17 (Poole area)

Bit strange as it is not meant to be here yet, or is it, i have a iphone 5s with ios8 beta5 installed, not sure whether this has anything to do with it, not complaining as this is great, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or having the same thing down south, regards stewart.....

Please don't be surprised if 4g comes and goes over the next week or three. The testing will cause signal to come and go but looking good for 4g.

Lucky you BoB, I'm getting 10.36 down but 10.6 up at the moment in London.  slight_frown Things have really slowed down since the initial rollout. I'm hoping it's temporary.

It's to be expected I suppose as more and more customers go for 4G handsets and tariffs.

Another reason for O2 to upgrade their backhaul networks.

A wise move @Anonymous as in my locality it is 2g only and o2 have made abundantly clear there are no plans to upgrade.

Given three are gonna be local with 4g by the end of the year and my contract has just 10 months I don't expect I will be on o2 this time next year.

My thoughts exactly, though I'm on a monthly simplicity and there is nothing tying me to nO2.

Hi

It does make sense to go where you will attain the best service possible.

Hi All

They must be testing down south. I'm just outside Portsmouth and have just noticed the much awaited 4G indication on the Note 3's and the iPads.

Just run speed checks using Speed Test.net's app (used 30Mb data) and achieving speeds of 17Mbs on the Note 3, and 24Mbs on the iPad. I'd assume the speed may increase once the cogs are oiled (as such).

Hoping its continuous service and not just testing lol...
