I've just received a text from O2. It came today. I'm on £10 Data Big Bundle. It says if I renew my Data Big Bundle on the 16th (which I most certainly will) I will get an extra 10GB which will last for 30 days next month.

That's brilliant! I normally get 8GB per month so the extra data will most certainly be appreciated.

Thank you O2. I look forward to receiving my extra 10GB next month. One happy customer!

😘😀

I too am on the £10.00 Big Bundle @koala321 and get those texts almost every month. The usual offer is either an additional 8Gb or 10Gb.

Bear in mind that the "bonus" data is utilised after your purchased data for the month and cannot therefore be carried over - it is a "use it or lose it" scenario. 👍

Having got an addition 8Gb of data in mid-September @koala321, I today received a text from O2 offering me an additional 10Gb if I renew my Big bundle later this week.

Are you getting similar texts ?

Hello @Oxonian , yes I got a text the other day from O2 starting 'why not get a bit more?' saying I will get an extra 10GB of data if I renew my Big Bundle on the 16th which is my anniversary date.

That's excellent @koala321 ; hopefully you got a text after your renewal confirming that your bonus data had been added to your account ?

Yes, I got another text on the 16th saying my extra data had been added.

Although the extra data didn't actually show when I texted BALANCE to 20202 on the 16th because the previous free data from the previous month had not yet expired and was still valid until 11.59pm on the 16th, but when I texted BALANCE again the next day the new extra data quota was there.

Do you know if the extra data also has a rollover because it's showing 13242.8mb at the moment which seems more than 10GB and my monthly allowance of 8GB with rollover is 16384.0mb?

The bonus data text @koala321 says :-

Use it any time over the next 30 days

Hence, I do not believe that it rolls over. I wonder whether you are using you bonus data first and if that is causing some of your 8Gb to roll over ?

I think that I would keep quiet and just be thankful that you appear to be getting more data than expected. And as I have said previously, once you are a regular Big Bundle customer, bonus data appears to be offered most - if not all - months. 👍

Hi @Oxonian , I'm not complaining! But it may not be extra data come to think about it. I based the calculation on there being 1024mb in 1GB, but if I divide 13242mb by 10, I get 1324mb. Do you know how many mb there are are in a GB? I always thought it was 1024mb but I suppose it could vary by network? I'm not sure. But if there are 1324mb in a gigabyte then it may be 10GB after all.

I've not had this offer before and I've been with Data Big Bundle a few years now.

I won't say anything. It's our little secret! 😂

A quick search on Google confirms that you are correct @koala321 ; there are 1024Mb in a gigabyte.

I don't think this should vary by network ; a pint of milk is a pint of milk whatever shop you use.

This is an interesting question ; please report report back what happens to you in mid-November ! 👍
