Just a quick question regarding the iPhone 6. Will customers due an upgrade for their phone be given priority over pre-orders of the iphone 6?

Exactly @viridis
That is what anyone with half a brain thought when they saw it. o2 have clearly clearly CLEARLY used the terminology they used in order to lure people in under false pretences just so they can get more pre-orders for their sales stats.
They raised peoples hopes and won't accept responsability when people are registering their frustration.
I dont know how they can get away with it, I really dont.

Just to point out before I go on that I am one of the very angry customers still waiting on their 6+ after ordering on the pretence of up to 14 days delivery.
However, I do have a little sympathy with O2.......speaking to someone on LC chat, someone helpful...they did point out when the 14 days was advertised this was based on an order timescale from Apple. Now you can look at this in two ways...one O2 knew how many phones they were getting and decided to over sell anyway or two that had an order profile from Apple which is now not being delivered which is why there is so much reluctance to give any of us an expected delivery date because they dont know when the phones might be delivered (not saying this is acceptable)
If the second is true then you have to ask why CPW are getting stock but O2 aren't? Have O2 upset Apple?
I think today I have just given up getting impatient with the delivery dates. Hope my mood improves once I finally get the phone otherwise this whole exercise will be useless!!

could i just buy the phone upfront at apple, and use my current 5s sim in it and put my 5s aside/sell but use my iphone 6+ with that monthly contract? that would work right?

That's how I bought my iPhone 5s 32gb sim free, last year, I went direct to Apple and paid £629.00 for it on interest free credit, £62.90 for 10 months and then I got a 4g sim only pack from 02 for £21.00 per month, now my iPhone is paid for and I don't have a lengthy mobile phone contract, my phone is not locked to O2 network and is not O2 branded either, (no 02 bubbles when I switch on) meaning it is worth more when I come to sell it. I saved £70.00 on purchase price at the time.
