I purchased this iphone in Miami Florida USA a couple month ago in a store from a Turkish or some sort of Arabic guy, he said that it was brand new and factory unlock but i found out that it wasn´t, it was black when i bought it, was used and attached or locked to the O2 carrier, so since i live in Caracas Venezuela i asked my brother that lives in London to buy me a new sim card from O2 with 15 pounds balance and send it to me, that he did, i introduced the sim card in my iphone and it does not reconize it, at least it seems so, it does not show the brand of the carrier, when i put the sim card in my unlocked blackberry it does recognize it, it evens gets signal with Movistar since it is Telefonica like O2, i try asking the O2 by filling the form to have the phone unlocked because i though that it would be easier with a different carrier, i do not even mind to stay with O2 as long as the phone work and lets me do the stuff that it is supposed to, like downloading and using aplications or using Safari, i have talked to the Gurus in the chat over 4 times and they have done their best to help me without results, i even talk to the guys from apple wich told me that i need to contact O2, i got this email after filling in the request

i apreciate the quick response but i did not get the chance to explain that they asked me in the form the 2 numbers i called the most, the sim card is brand new, i did not want to spend the 15 pounds balance that it has, i have never called anyone with this phone or the phone number attached to the sim card. i did ricieved a few text messages from O2 when i putted the O2 sim card in my unlocked blackberry mobile to register here in the O2 web page</MYCARE>

I've asked staff to remove your personal info and imei number.

In order to successfully unlock the phone to all networks via 02's unlocking request form you will have had to make a few chargeable calls from within the Uk so the number latches to the phone. Sand then have £15 as credit on the sim to pay the admin unlocking fee.
