Will iPhone 5S be available in O2 store on Friday 20th September 2013?

Hello, does anyone know if the iPhone 5S will be available to purchase from a O2 retail store on Friday 20th September 2013? I called into my local branch yesterday and I was informed that they would not have any physical stock in store on that date and that I would only be able to order one. I don't want to travel all the way to my local store and then wait in a queue to find out that they have none in stock. It will be easier to just place the order online.

Honest thoughts Toby, this seems such a backwards way of doing it. Last year the networks and Apple got things bang on. People could pre order through whichever channel they wanted and got the phone posted out to them for launch day. Absolutely painless!

This year the only phone people can pre order is the 5C and as the fact that it still available for launch day delivery nearly 4 days after pre orders opened shows, no one cares about the 5C!

Contrary to what we saw here then wink

How many people are upgrading from the 5 to the 5S?

Just curious.

I work for O2 but my comments and opinions posted here are solely my own and do not reflect those of Telefonica.

I will be watching the unboxing vids and reviews by early adopters.

Plus visiting my local Apple store to have a demo on it.

I buy mine sim free so I want to be confident that what it brings to the table warrants the outlay.

I am purely because we're a 2 iPhone house... my wife's on the 4S (my one from year before) and i'm on a 5 ... she'll get the 5 and i get the 5S slight_smile

I'll then sell / use the 4S for work ... haven't decided

I'm tempted to but waiting to see how IOS7 is.  I'd like the 4G speed but obviously that's not going to be available at the start any way so I guess a delay in obtaining means 4G may be available by the time the 5S is available.

Just a little disappointed that we thought both phones were released on 20 September and now no longer seem to be.

Hi guys,

I cant reliably speak for the other networks in terms of stock, but once O2 found out about the stock that was available, this method seemed to be the fairest way for everyone to have the same chance of being able to order one on the 20th, as it would be a great shame for some stores/areas to have more stock for whatever reason than others where there is still a huge demand.

@DAW; I can understand that is frustrating and that you may have been able to get your hands on one sooner last year. Are you going to try iOS7 on your current phone first or just wait to see how its performing for others? There arer some great features coming with it.

Are most of you aiming to order online? It could be quicker, but at a store you may have a chance to play around with one depending on if the store has a demo handset.

Well Vodafone have just confirmed you can get it in store on the 20th

We have had many questions regarding the iPhone 5s pricing and availability and I am happy to be able to confirm the following options for the release on Friday 20th.

We will be releasing the iPhone in store, over the phone and via our website. Stock in store is limited but if they run out you can then order for home delivery and we will get one to you as soon as possible.
