My iphone will only send texts to other iphones, and not to other phones. Why is that

Sounds like it's only sending imessages

In the phone settings turn off headers.

How do you turn off the subject line on iPhone messages?

Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and select the Messages option.

Step 3: Scroll down to the SMS/MMS section, then tap the button to the right of Show Subject Field to turn it off.
