it has to be a Portuguese network problem. You just using the normal number as you would at home i.e. no international code?

It's a Portuguese phone so I'm using the prefix.

The phone over there is a basic pay as you go. Everyone else in England can text and receive fine, but me and the mrs can't from our 5's??

If they are using UK simcards you just dial the number without the prefix. If they are using Portuguese sims then use the internstional format but you did say one was on O2 and the other on EE,

Sorry meant the ones we're texting from here are o2 and ee. The one over there is a basic Portuguese pay as you go. Just making the point that it appears to be an I phone5 issue or a setting we're both missing? Other 5's our friends have work fine?!? I've tried prefix, no prefix, every combination.
