Apologies if this is a basic question
I am possibly getting an iPhone 5 imminently and hence need to swap my sim. However, the arrival of this iPhone 5 isn't guaranteed. Hence I was wondering whether if I order this sim, my current sim will immediately be deactivated or will I be able to continue using my current sim until the arrival of my iPhone 5?
Again, sorry if this is horrendously basic!
Thanks in advace!

No need to apologise.
Your SIM will remain active until you register it, which can be done at www.o2.co.uk/swapmysim
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. How do I order the sim though? I simply just want to change my current sim to a nanosim. I clicked on that link before and it seemed to want me to register it. Can you point me to the right place to simply change my sim?
Thanks again!

There's no point in you getting a nano sim until you get your iPhone. The nano sim will not work in your current phone unless you use an adapter. When you get your iPhone, you can go to an O2 store and they will give you a nano sim and swap your number over for you while you're there. You're then reasonably certain that there will be no mistakes with the swap. Be aware that it can still take 24 hours for the new sim to activate, but it's usually much faster than that. I did a sim swap in store about two months ago and my new sim was up and running within 20 minutes.
