Porting

Hi, I'm switching from tesco mobile to O2 but keeping the same number. The guys in tesco mobile shop did an upgrade for me and gave O2 the pac number. They inserted the nano sim into my new iphone 5. Got home and can't set iphone 5 up because it says "no sim". Is this because of the porting? Port date is 30th sept, will the sim activate on iphone 5 on that date? Is it normal for it to say "no sim" before the number is ported?

Hi and welcome.

The iphone requires an active sim to complete the set up process.

Your services should activate on the date given to you and once your up and running you can get on with setting up the iphone..

Keep turning the phone off and on to activate the services on your activation date.
