Poor Signal - In and around football stadiums

Anonymous
Not applicable
I can appreciate the sheer volume of people using their phones in and around stadiums on match days, however, I find the signal for both making a call and for using the Internet to be shocking whilst using an iPhone. Whereas it appears to be slightly better in using an old brick Nokia.
I tend to receive a glut of messages an hour or so after the game has finished, due to the backlog of poor reception.
Can't seem to access the Internet, even low bandwidth sites like BBC mobile to browse the sport at half time.
Not really sure if O2 would be able to improve this in anyway??? Any thoughts, or other people who have similar problems?

I've had the same problem. Went to watch my team play away the other week at Elland Road. No data connection at all either in ground or outside the stadium dispute it saying 3G on screen. Got txts after game had finished.

I can't imagine any network going to the expense of installing new equipment in football stadiums for a few thousand people to use for a couple of hours once every 2 saturdays?

From the network's point of view the cost would outweigh the benefits and can't imagine many of those people being that bothered they'd change provider over something as small as that.

The coverage checker for the stadium shows they will be carrying out work on the 13th of this month so maybe that will improve things. To be honest, most of the football stadiums I have visited (and that is most of the English clubs) appear to have decent coverage and I haven't had any problems.

I dont think its just Football stadiums that have this issue. My local shopping center has simular issues sometimes. More people in there the data is either slow or just not possible at all. However you leave the shopping center and as soon as you pick a mast further a field the data is back to normal. Its not just o2, I know my friends on other networks have simular issues some times too.

Need Help, Just ask. We are one big Family here in the o2 Forum.
Use iPhone XS Max dual sim, SE, Honor 10, IPad Pro 11, Apple Watch 4 LTE, 100+ Mpbs Barrier and a Record Player.
