In the photos app go select photos at bottom
then hit select top right tap on the photos you do not want then hit the trash can icon it will then prompt delete x photos hit that
then select albums scroll to recently deleted select that
tap select and delete all bottom left
that is how I do it

Do,you mean the photo stream folder as there is the camera roll, photo stream & deleted folders?
if not follow @adamtemp64 advice on resetting yout iPhone

@Anonymous Both @adamtemp64 and @Anonymous are very knowledgeable when it comes to iPhones. I will also tag @MI5 who also knows about them as well. I'm sure he will come on later and comment. If all else fails should all their good advice not solve your issue, if you have access to an Apple store, make a genius appointment.

One way is to syn them to your pc in a folder, delete the photos and then resync the folder to the phone. All can be done via itunes.
