As of yesterday, I have been sending some text messages to an iPhone 4 (also on O2 but Pay As You Go) and none of these messages have been received by the other phone?

I have tried sending them as Text Messages and also iMessages but they are just not being received?  My iPhone 5 says that the message has been 'delivered' but I do not get the 'read' symbol under the message because it has not been  received by the other phone?

I have also checked the status of Apple's services here : https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/  , but everything is showig that it is working.  This leads me to believe that the issue must be with O2 somewhere.....

I  live in the South Croydon area (dunno if that makes a difference?!) but has anyone else had any issues, over the last day or so, with sending messages...?! Smiley Frustrated

Ok, I think I have just realised what my problem is....!!

For some wierd and unknown reason, sometimes when I plug in my iPad 2 to charge, even though I have 'Automatically Back Up to iCloud' selected, it would come up with a message to sign into iCloud (it never used to ask before because I was already signed in?!). Unless I actually saw this message, obviously I wouldn't see it to sign in, so the iPad 2 was left not signed into iCloud (until I saw the message!). This would then result in all iCloud functionalities rendered offline - i.e. iMessage, etc.

Just spoke to my wife (who the iPhone 4 belongs to) and she's just confirmed that same has happened to her iPhone 4. She's had it on the charger (with 'Auto Back Up' on) and up came the message to 'Sign into iCloud' - which she saw. This obviously had her signed out of iCloud (the last time her phone was plugged in) so obviously turned off her iMessage plus other iCloud stuff.

Now that she has signed in, the messages app is now showing the other messages she tried to send as 'Not Delivered'.

I would check that this same scenario has not happened to you as well....!!!

Hi. My wife and I have had exactly the same issue yesterday. It's driving us crazy. I can text, imessage and ring her but when she rings me it goes straight to voicemail and i'm not receiveing text messages, even though they state they have been delivered on her phone. My wife has also missed phonecalls from our GP who has said that it goes straight through to voicemail. Annoyinging, the website states evrything is 'fine' in our area, but it looks to me that there is a big problem. I'm probably going to switch to Vodaphone as this is second time in a couple of months we've experienced network disruption and I rely on my mobile for me work.

Hi guys.

Check your service status as recent weather conditions and power outages have caused issues.

Here's a self help guide

Ask your friends to check their services too.

Turn voicemail off and on if your not using O2 Tugo as Tugo forces voicemail to stay on.
