Any ideas on how to fix? Can I pop into an o2 shop and they'd be able to determine what's wrong with it? My phone was workign fine yesterday but on Saturday I did kepe getting some random error message come up mentioning something about cable device not working when my phone wasn't even plugged in!

Have you tried a diferant cable
Checked for lint / fluff in lightning port ? (can cause that error message) https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201569
P.s. if that fails follow the advice in the help document and visit an apple store after booking a genius appointment as they will assist you

Yes I've tried 2 different chargers as well as my Griffin car charger and also taking out the usb cable from a charger and trying charging through my laptop.
I've checked for fluff etc abd tried using some sticky tape but to no avail, it still won't charge. The nearest Apple store to me is away in Birmingham and I live in Nottingham so not exactly close. Would o2 be able to help if I went into a store do you think?

Hi @Anonymous Look for an Apple approved store closer to you. My son had a problem with his iPhone 6. He didn't want to go to Birmingham so made an appointment at the store in Sutton Coldfield. They fixed his phone with no problem.(He rang and was given an appointment) I think Nottingham have a KRCS outlet ...they deal with Apple repairs...you should give them a ring..
I would advise against taking it into an O2 store. They will want to send it away for repair. Not a good idea if honest

I would in honesty call Apple support. They can arrange collection and return. Take it to O2 and you risk it being put down to user damage and chargeable and coming back with additional dents and scratches.

Try a toothpick or other small non metal tool as tape may not get it out if wedged in.
Is The 6 in Warranty or not ?
