Hi all,
Having my iPhone 5s replaced by Apple shortly due to a malfunctioning gyro.
Basically if i put my iPhone 4s, 5 & 5S all next to each other on the same table my 5S gyro reports a -5 degrees tilt.
Coupled with games like RealRacing 3 and Riptide GP2 for example being way off centred controled.
For me, everytime i go back into any app using the gyro / accelorometers i have to recalibrate (if the app even allows) and then it 'forgets' the centring .
Looking on Macrumors, seems like this isn't an isolated issue.
I've been on with Apple and they gave me a couple of things to try but neither helped so now are replacing my iPhone
Wondered if anyone else has this?
Basically if you go into the Compass app and slide to right you get a spirit level app. on a flat surface you should get 0 degrees.
The image below is my 5s and 4s next to each other.... if i take the bumper off the 4s it gets a 0.
Ta
J

I've not had this issue with my iPhone 5.
Let's see if other iPhone 5s report the same issue.
It could be called ' GyroGate'

While Apple are happy to replace the phone, they have asked me to wait a couple of days for an internal process - they've raised a case with engineering to determine if this is a pre-existing known-issue or something new.
The result of that is that they may wish to capture the device etc.... i'll know more on thursday
If anyone else has this issue and contacts Apple their 'stock solution' is to have user restore the phone, place on a flat surface on-charge for 90 minutes in Do-not-disturb mode in order to 'calibrate' the gyro.
This does absolutely nothing!

Just checking mine, the 5 showed -1 but has now set itself to O, the 5S shows -3. As I'm not gaming I'm happy to leave it.
Just removed the case from the 5S and it dropped to -2.
And accidentally swiped downwards on the screen and suddenly the 5S is now on O.
Moved both to a different surface and both showing O still.
