A bit more information might be handy..... Is the phone unlocked? Is your wife on O2? Is her sim monthly or PAYG?

Given the sketchy information:

 

Yes if it's on the same network and or the phone is unlocked.

Yes if it's the same sized sim or you would need to get the correct one from instore and swap the number.
