mobile data usage

Hi. My 500mb mobile data easily lasted my first month on contract, however on the second month it is down to 100mb and I have to make it last to the end of the month. Can I limit it so it only checks for emails or am I doing something else wrong? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

From memory go to:

More
Data Usage

You will see how much data in total you have used. Scroll down and it should give you a breakdown, hopefully largest first, since the date your usage chart runs from (at the top of that screen) @Anonymous

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the Community

Are you using Facebook? If so do you have videos set to auto play? If so that is a likely candidate.

What handset are you using? Have you checked in data settings what is eating your data?

Hi @Anonymous

You can limit your data usage by turning off mobile data. You'll then not be able to access the internet using the mobile network. You can still use Wi-Fi even though mobile data is turned off.

To be honest 500 mb isn't a lot nowadays certainly with apps running in the background. If needed you can purchase a data bolt on to last you...

There are lots of things you can do to slow down your data usage, but first look in the phone settings to see what is using the most data and start there.

I see. The top 2 are google play and BBC news. Is there anything in their settings to prevent this occurring again? Thanks

Google Play will most likely be app updates. You can set these to update over wifi only.

Not sure about your use of bbc news
