Hi

I was sent an eSim for Galaxy Watch 3 4G (pre-owned). I have it all setup but cannot make/receive calls in standalone mode.

Is there supposed to be an airtime plan for the watch in addition to the airtime plan I have for the mobile? If yes, how do I signup. Anyone I speak with online or in-instore, no one has a clue.

@MickyBlue

According to this post by @O2Georgina one of our account advisors, the set up of this watch can only be done instore. https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/O2-Gurus/Galaxy-Watch-3-LTE-version-Searching-for-network/m-p/1448934/...

I was surprised as I thought it could be set up via the wearable app on the device.

Do you only need to go in store to sort the esim qr code out? Because I received mine with my watch this morning and set it up myself. But I still can't make calls standalone from the watch even though my phone is at home connected to the Internet.

Yes you do @11Jonesy11

They are open in England and Wales on Monday.

I went in and all they done was go to Settings-Advanced Settings-Calls and Texts on other Devices and turned this on. So no need to go in to a store at all, you can do this yourself. Thanks for the replies and I hope this helps others.

Thanks for the info @11Jonesy11 . It certainly should help others. As you say, no need for a trip to the store. thumbsup

Hi All,

I have the same issues on my Watch Active 2.

I have installed and setup the eSim on the watch, setup as per the instructions,  and it shows as active. But I still can't make calls etc. unless connected via bluetooth.

Does it take a while for the settings to propogate through the O2 network?

Do I have to contact them to set it up their end?

Will it get billed automatically?

It all seems very haphazard to me.
