Hello.
Can an O2 employee confirm the day that the Z1 will ship out? (Not to be confused with the release date)
Thanks

I hope you get your phone soon Grimbo! The irony being I am paying no more to be with Vodafone and have a 4G ready contract - I wish I had made the jump last week and saved a lot of headache and phone calls today!
There are some great staff at O2 but the last guy I spoke to just took the biscuit!

1980b how would you compare the screen to iPhone 4S? I hope I'm not disappointed..... Still no sign of my packageYou should see an improvement from the 4S for sure, size wize, it will blow you away lol!
As for quality...you need to decide for yourself. The retina displays on the 4S and 5 are brilliant, crisp, bright and clear. The Sony displays are not as vibrant or bright imo..
Great to hear some thoughts on the screen resolution.
Has anyone tried watching videos yet? How do they compare to whatever your previous device was?

Indeed. I watched a 1280x720 Marvel one-shot and the image came out perfectly clear; very bright. I'll see about having a 1080p video placed on there to test out next.

Well I pre-ordered my Z1 on 12th Sep, having agreed to fast-track on to new phone instead of waiting until upgrade date in Jan 2014. Was informed by town centre shop member of staff that phone should arrive on morning of 20th Sep (release date).
Arrived at shop on 20th Sep to be told no deliveries had been made that day and to call abck later. Called back on way home before shop closed at 5.30PM and still no delivery. Was blamed on mix up at main delivery warehouse, but phone would arrive Saturday.
Hada on O2 text on 20th to apologise for missed delivery of phone.
Called back in to shop on Mon 23rd Sep, still no Z1 deliveries. Come back Tuesday, we will have it then, said the man in the shop.
Called again today and still no Z1 delivery and no text from O2. Shabby service I have to say.
I appreciate it is not the fault of the shop that the phone hasn't arrived, bet getting tired of their call back tomorrow excuses.
Also, I pre-ordered phone before 18th Sep, in the hope of getting the pre-order bonus of the zoom lens (as advertised on the website). I hope they include this otherwise I may cancel my pre-order, let my contract run out in January and go and find another provider to do my business with.
So come on O2. What is the problem with the shipping of Z1 phones. Is it because my locale is a small town s we have to wait for all the big cities to receive their stock first?

Cheers! Still no phone I'm afraid. Got through to someone yesterday that said they acknowledged a problem internally on Saturday with overdue pre-orders but haven't decided what to do about it. Rang again today but no meaningful notes were left of my account by the previous person that said they'd found the problem.
I have to admit everyone I speak to is nice and apologetic (bar one guy), just unable to fix the problem. Everyone says "Do you want to cancel? that won't be a problem" but actually getting O2 to send me the phone is hurrendous

How ridiculous is that?1 I bet even O2's staff are that fef up with the lack of information they recieve that they now think the best option for their customers is to cancel their order and get it somewhere else! What a way to run a business! Does anybody high up at O2 monitor these forums? Countless people in this thread alone have stated they took their business to p4u or cpw in order to secure a phone that O2 are apparently struggling to resource! This is one of the biggest mobile service providers in the uk who are losing potentially c£500 a time someone gets bored waiting!
If their are alarm bells at O2 HQ, I hope they are ringing! It's more like Fawlty Towers than phone masts!

I've come to the conclusion that the staff on the ground do care but whoever makes decisions has a very low opinion of customers.

I quite agree, you don't normally go into any Customer Service type of role with no intention of being helpful, they must be frustrated that the infrastructure of the business is leading them to feel the wrath of customers due to higher-paid employees' mistakes. Being in O2 customer service must be a thankless task at the mo. If any of them are reading; chin up guys.
