Unlock code doesn't work

Hi,

Unfortunately, the code O2 provided and / or the instructions are not accurate.

When I enter "Service Provider Lock" I am told the phone is not customised.

I have to enter the "Network Lock" menu to be able to enter the code, however the code O2 sent doesn't work. My phone informs me the unlock request was unsuccessful. I already tried 4 times, only 6 attempts left.

I checked my IMEI, I gave O2 the correct number.

I want an O2 rep to get in touch with me and help to unlock my phone. I have an LG G7.

The email support is down, chat impossible to find / hidden in a maze. Embarrassing.

@ArturS

No one from O2 will contact you and frankly, it would be pointless anyway.

LG phones need to be unlocked via a cable and software at a phone repair shop as they virtually never unlock from a code.

Take it to your local repair shop in town and save yourself the grief.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Pff... then what's with:

"As an O2 customer, your O2 device can be unlocked at any time."

This means something more like:

As an O2 customer we don't give a toss about you so go to the corner shop and pay some random dude to get this done for ya.

Btw, how do I know the corner shop won't brick the phone?

Just an update, O2 escalated to LG, perhaps they get me a working code.

In the meantime in went to check who could unlock the phone with cable and software, as per MI5's suggestion. None of the repair places in town had a clue on how to go about that.
