Hi,
How long have you had the handset ?
Official Link.
If your over 14 days I would suggest seeking assistance from the phone manufacturer as they tend to be better than the Networks repair service.

It does sound hardware related so perorming a soft or hard reset may not help.

No harm in trying tho just make a back up before you start to retain your saved data.
What have you done thus far to try and resolve it.
Check the speaker and ports for dust and lint too.
Is the feedback happening no matter where you make a call.

I understand feedback as a high pitched screech usualy caused by conflict with another speaker or amplifying device. Is this what you mean?
Is it happening on loudspeaker or normal calls when phone held to your ear?
Do you wear hearing aids or are there amps or other speakers in the area?

I would say the call quality on the Z1 is not great I have came to notice.
I have had it since launch also and this is handset number 2. I love it but it does seem that on calls it is not that great and there is a lot of other noise. I have had to use my landline *GASP* a couple of times as the static has just been so annoying!

Stick the phone in service mode & test the speaker.
