Nexus 5, simswap

Not applicable

Tried the on line simswap procedure to transfer contacts and data from Nokia N8 to new Nexus 5. part way through was told new sim (micro) 13 digit number printed on back and supplied by O2 could not be correct and procedure aborted. Now I'm left with original phone off the network and new phone operating with a different call number and with no data or contacts. Anybody any ideas?

Thank you. MI5. Had 'chat' with a couple of O2 advisors. Seems Carphone Warehouse did not action my request to retain my 'old' number but now sorted.  I'll just have to live with being unable to transfer my contacts list.

You can't copy contacts and data across. All you can do is transfer your number. You can try live chat or call O2 from a landline. From a landline 0844 809 0202 5p / min

Did you have your contacts actually on the phone with the N8?
Maybe you can still put your old SIM back in the N8 and copy the contacts to your PC using Nokia PC Suite, then you can export them as a .csv file and import that file into Google which will then sync with your N5.
