Sony Xperia M email setup

I have set up my o2 email address on my new phone and no problem receiving emails but I cannot send one from the phone.  Any ideas?

 

I've just spent the best part of an hour with o2 gurus on something else and before I lose the will to live thought I would try a different tack with this query.

Ah, right sorry.
So can you turn off wifi and try sending on mobile data then?
Who is your broadband provider now?

broadband supplied by Sky and no problem running email through my pc.

 

will have to check mobile data later and will let you know
