Set your phone to warn you when a sms is converted to mms, most android phones have this option in settings. Also switch on character count. Anything over 480 characters (3 sms) will convert to mms at 40p.

This is good to know. When I was previously with T-Mobile on a contract that included unlimited minutes and texts I got charged a lot for the smiley faces, didn't understand at first why I was being charged extra until I carefully checked my statement, only for it to keep listing "picture messages". These were all in fact just texts with smiley faces in them so I immediately stopped using them. Shame as I do like them! :smileyhappy:
