Sim card hell!

Just picked up a new Samsung Galaxy... very excited until I got home and realised that my old phone (iPhone3) had old sized sim card but samsung needs micro sim - the shop assistant said I would be able to do a straight swap.

A few questions I need help with:

1. Can I do a straight swap; if so, how?

2. If I need a micro sim card - how do I get one - I want to keep my same phone number?

You can get a micro SIM (in store ;)) and do a SIM swap or use a SIM cutter to trim down your current SIM card.

Yes, exactly that. They will switch it over in store, it usually kicks in immediately BUT it can take upto 24 hours at busy times.

You could do it online via a specific o2 link but when I tried it failed abysmally twice so ended up getting live chat to sort it out for me. Which they did quite efficiently.

I had to use a non O2 SIM to unlock my phone, Unfortunately the only PAYG SIMs I could buy were normal size,

So I used this guide and it worked perfectly

It's not without it's risks obviously, but I managed it so anybody could (COULD)
