I got pushed a "Biometric Security update" a day or two ago for this.
It wasn't part of a complete build but what looked like an out-of-band urgent update, it just updated the security module.
Incidentally, Barclays also sent me a text message to tell me to "Disable the fingerprint login feature of the app" whilst the security is compromised, and then a warning that said if fingerprint is used for transactions then it is always assumed by them that its me, and transactions complete accordingly.
I guess I have been warned!
